Using a teleprompter in Italian

Does TellyPrompter follow your voice in Italian?

Yes. Italian is one of the 34 languages TellyPrompter recognises, and it detects every one of them from the script itself.

Paste a script written in Italian and the app reads the language from the text and sets recognition to Italian (it-IT). You can also choose Italian by hand from the language list, on the setup screen or in Settings.

Pause, and it waits. Repeat a line, and it goes back to it. Go off-script, and it waits until you come back to the words on the page, then finds your place again, usually within a few words.

Figures in the script — a year, a price, a count — are matched against their spoken Italian forms.

Is the app in Italian?

No. The app's own interface — its buttons, its settings and its messages — is in English. The script, the recognition and the reading are in Italian.

What does the browser need?

Recognition is the browser's, not ours. TellyPrompter asks the speech recognition built into your browser for Italian, so how well Italian is heard depends on your browser's engine. Chrome, Edge and Safari have speech recognition; Firefox does not.

Without it, TellyPrompter can still follow the sound of your voice, or scroll at a steady pace you set. Those two modes work in every browser.

Where does your voice go?

Speech recognition does not send audio to TellyPrompter. It uses the speech recognition built into your browser; we do not operate a speech service. A recording reaches our storage only when you choose Save to account.

Some browsers implement their speech API by sending audio to their own servers — Chrome's is documented as server-based, which is why dictation there does not work offline. Where your browser works that way, your voice reaches your browser vendor under their privacy policy rather than ours, and what they do with it is governed by their terms.

What does it cost?

Start without an account or card. On the free-first-session offer, your first complete session includes prompting, recording, retakes, review and original downloads; Pro unlocks your next sessions. Existing Free users and visitors on the earlier offer keep their ongoing Free access. There is no timer or script-length limit within your free session, and recordings have no watermark. Browser support and microphone permission still apply.

Pro unlocks continued sessions on the free-first-session offer, prepared caption, marker and rough-cut exports, organised local handoff packages and export files in editor links. Supported local exports are also included in the complete free first session. Pro includes an unlimited account script library and personal-template sync. Export readiness depends on available timing and media.

A free account syncs up to five scripts. Optional account recording storage is available on both Free and Pro: 1 GB per account, with a 250 MB limit per recording. Sign in and choose Save to account to upload a recording; downloading originals remains free without an account.
