Does TellyPrompter follow your voice in Korean?

Yes. Korean is one of the 34 languages TellyPrompter recognises, and one of the twenty it detects from the script itself.

Paste a script written in Korean and the app reads the language from the text and sets recognition to Korean (ko-KR). You can also choose Korean by hand from the language list, on the setup screen or in Settings.

Pause, and it waits. Repeat a line, and it goes back to it. Go off-script, and it waits until you come back to the words on the page, then finds your place again, usually within a few words.

Figures in the script — a year, a price, a count — are matched against both their Sino-Korean and their native Korean readings.

Is the app in Korean?

No. The app's own interface — its buttons, its settings and its messages — is in English. The script, the recognition and the reading are in Korean.

What does the browser need?

Recognition is the browser's, not ours. TellyPrompter asks the speech recognition built into your browser for Korean, so how well Korean is heard depends on your browser's engine. Chrome, Edge and Safari have speech recognition; Firefox does not.

Without it, TellyPrompter can still follow the sound of your voice, or scroll at a steady pace you set. Those two modes work in every browser.

It runs on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows, in the browser.

Where does your voice go?

We never receive your audio. TellyPrompter uses the speech recognition built into your browser and does not operate a speech service of its own, so no recording of your voice reaches us at any point.

Some browsers implement their speech API by sending audio to their own servers — Chrome's is documented as server-based, which is why dictation there does not work offline. Where your browser works that way, your voice reaches your browser vendor under their privacy policy rather than ours, and what they do with it is governed by their terms.

What does it cost?

TellyPrompter is free to use, with no account and nothing to download. Open tellyprompter.com/app/ in a browser, paste a script and start reading.

Recording is free too. It is not a paid feature, and nothing it produces carries a watermark.

Pro costs £7 a month, £40 a year or £99 once. It is for the cloud script library: a free account syncs up to five scripts between devices, and Pro syncs as many as you write. Recording is not behind it.
