Captions follow script timings; they are not verbatim transcripts of ad-libs. Missing timing or media must be repaired before exporting. Local packages contain selected originals and sidecar files, not a newly rendered video. Links never host recordings.
Before you decide
Can I use it without paying or signing in?
Yes. Prompting, Ear Studio, recording, review and original audio/video downloads are Free, with no account required. Voice-following is not metered and recordings have no watermark. Browser support and microphone permission still apply.
What does Pro add?
Pro adds prepared caption exports, destination marker files, rough-cut timeline files, organised local handoff packages and export files in editor links. It also adds an unlimited account script library and personal-template sync. Export readiness depends on available timing and media.
Can I cancel or request a refund?
Cancel a subscription from Billing in your account. Pro continues until the end of the paid period. If Pro is not for you, contact contact@tellyprompter.com within 30 days of paying for a full refund. This applies to monthly, yearly and one-payment purchases. See the refund policy for full details.
What happens when Pro ends?
Your saved scripts remain readable and exportable. Free script editing and sync follow the five-script allowance; new prepared editor exports require Pro. Original recordings and raw take data remain available. Existing shared links keep their promised expiry.
Do editor links include my video?
No. Links carry take details and, on Pro, prepared export files. Send recordings separately. Free links last 7 days and Pro links 90 days from creation or refresh. Upgrading alone does not extend an existing link.
Will a timeline work in my editor?
Available formats include FCPXML and OTIO, with destination-specific guidance in the app. Import, sound, relinking and save/reopen have not yet been verified in named editor versions. Check the format guidance and your workflow before relying on a handoff. A timeline file is not a rendered video.
